Bodega
Monte Pedroso is a small family “bodega”
(winery) set up in 2000 and whose principal goal
is making wines of fine and higher quality. The
bodega is situated in a village called La Seca,
located in the province of Valladolid within the
“Rueda” Controlled Name of Origin
(control board). The Rueda name includes terrains
spanning the provinces of Valladolid, Segovia,
Ávila, the area of Castilla reknowned for its
white wine production since the 14th century.
The wine-producing area of Rueda is located on
the high plateaux of Castilla situated between
600m and 780m
above the sea level.
The main climatic characteristic of this region
is the important contrast of temperature between
the winter and the summer which is a key element
in obtaining quality wines. In addition, our continental
climate is characterized by an average of 2.700
hours of sun and 407mm of rainfall a year.
Since the beginning of our process, we bet on
the traditional grapes of the region (Verdejo),
perfectly adapted to the hard continental climate
as it has been cultivated in the area since the
16th century.
The Verdejo variety is well known for producing
one of the best white wines of Spain. |
